Postgraduate Studies

If it were up to me, I would be an eternal student. But adult life demands a lot from me and in that respect money is paramount (unfortunately).

My postgraduate or master's degree options so far are:

  • Musictherapy.
  • Art history.
  • Complementary pedagogies (waldorf, montesorri, pikler, etc).
These options are intended to complement my musical studies. In this way I can acquire a comprehensive perspective of this wonderful discipline. However, I must confess that I have not done enough research to decide in which institution, how I would finance it, and at what point in my life I am going to do it.

Below I will briefly justify each option.

Art history: I am very interested in knowing the development and evolution of each artistic discipline. Along the same lines, understanding how historical social changes affect the development of styles, evolution of new genres and artistic currents. There is a great detail in this option. It turns out that most programs of study are focused on the visual arts as a priority, and for that they use a Eurocentric approach (everything takes place in Europe) and that to some extent bothers me. I wish I knew the history of ALL the arts and all the cultures of the world.

Musictherapy has been introduced into my life a few at a time. It is the musical field totally distant from what I have studied so far. This crossover of psychology and music fills me with curiosity.
I am briefly familiar with the program offered by the university and I find interesting the different fields of work where music therapy can be applied.

Finally, pedagogy is a field that I am going to have to face anyway and I would like to do it with some few traditional orientations. So far I have been researching early childhood teaching approaches with a gentler and more respectful perspective on the learning process.
Usually these types of pedagogies are taught in seminars or short training courses.
